Abstract:
Provided is a sensor that uses a detecting element, such as a surface acoustic wave element, and comprises a channel for a sample. A sensor comprises a substrate, a detecting element that is located over the substrate and has a detecting unit to detect an object to be detected contained in the sample on the top face, and a channel structure that is located over the substrate and that overlays the detecting unit with a gap therebetween. The channel structure has an inlet for the sample, a channel continuing from the inlet, and a space that continues from the end of channel on the side of the detecting element and is located above the detecting unit. The bottom of the channel has, on the end of the detecting element side, a notched portion that has a width that gradually becomes narrower toward the upstream side.
