The accuracy of calculation of position angle θ from low torque (low current) to high torque (high current) is increased and power loss in the low torque is suppressed. A sensorless motor controller comprising a magnetic pole position estimation means (45) for estimating the magnetic pole position of a rotor with saliency in a motor (10) by superimposing high-frequency currents (idh*, iqh*) on the motor without using any sensor which detects the magnetic pole position of the motor (10).  The sensorless motor controller comprises a high-frequency current control means (33) for changing the magnitude of the high-frequency current on the basis of the magnitude of torque or current in the motor (10).  The control means (33) increases the high-frequency current as the torque or the current in the motor (10) becomes larger and decreases the high-frequency current as the torque or the current in the motor becomes smaller.  The control means (33) reads out high-frequency current value specifying data by table access using the torque or the current in the motor as an address, to thereby determine a high-frequency current value.
