Title:
SEPARATE DIGITAL TIMER USED IN HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCES
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2000/054117
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Timers used in household appliances consist of the button group (2), display (1) and PC board (4). The display (1) has been replaced mechanically within the cover (3) being connected to PC board (4). The electricity connection between PC board (4) and button group (2); has been performed by the constant connection of connectors (6) added to the PC board (4) together with button group (2) and the cable (7) connecting these connectors (6) to each other or the connection of the cable without the connectors. The length of this cable (7) varies in accordance with the replacement of the display (1) and button group (2) within the measurements required by the design. The limitation in replacement on the control panel has been eliminated by the separation of the button group (2) from the display (1) and PC board (4); and also the limitation factors coming from the digital timer during industrial design stage and born from the replacement.

Description:
SEPARATE DIGITAL TIMER USED IN HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCES The present invention is related with a digital timer used in household appliances where the button group is replaced separately from the display and PC board.

Digital timers are used to control heating resistences in cooking devices especially in electrical household appliances and installed on the control panel generally.

Digital timers consisting of a display, PC board and button group are in a constant structure within the same frame. (Picture 1). This condition limits the designing of the control panel in construction stage. PC board, button group and display are made up of a single board where the required electrical connections are performed. Accordingly, the separation of display and the button group is impossible. For this reason, the display and the button group are realised together during designing and so unique designs are not able to be performed for control panel. As another conclusion, the button group consisting of at least two buttons placed on a linear line should be over the same plane with the display and in addition, the positions of the display and the button group should be fixed in accordance with the dimensions of the frame.

The aim of this invention is to perform the replacement of the button group separately from the display and PC board.

The display, PC board and button group, manufactured to achieve the aim of the present invention are shaped in pictures. Among the said pictures; Picture 1-Is the view of a timer drawn in accordance with the previous technique.

Picture 2-Is the view of the button separated from the display and PC board.

Picture 3-Is the view of the button group in different shapes and sizes.

The parts within the pictures are numbered and the matching is presented below: 1-Display 2-Button Group 3-Cover 4-PC Board 5-Button Group Board 6-Connection Part (Connector) 7-Cable 8-Button The timers used in household appliances consist of the button group (2), display (1) and PC board (4). The display (1), is connected to the PC board (4) mechanically and electrically and replaced within a cover (3). The electricity connection between the PC board (4) and button group (2) is performed by connectors (6) added to PC board (4) and button group board (5) and by connecting via cable (7) between these connectors (6) or by again connecting the cable to the circuit cards by making it constant and without the connectors. The length of the cable (7) varies within the measurements required by this design, in accordance with the replacement of the display (1) and the button group (2). By the separation of the button group (2) from the display (1) and PC board (4); the limitation in replacement over the control panel is eliminated, and also the limiting factors in the replacement of digital timer in industrial design stage is eliminated.

The production of buttons (8) with the requested shape and size and them being put to the requested place on the control panel; eliminated the subjection to a standard shape, and supplied three dimensional designing ability together with usage comfort. In the control panel, without being stuck to the display, it will be possible to manufacture displays (1) and buttons (8) within the requested shapes and sizes, being suitable to the control panel, in accordance with the construction performance suiting to the industrial design printouts.
