Description:
A SEPARATING ELEMENT FOR USE IN A WASHING UNIT

TECHNICAL FIELD

The present invention relates to at least one washing unit having at least one washing chamber wherein the item desired to be washed is placed, particularly for use in washing processes.

PRIOR ART

The highest sound frequency which can be heard by human ear is approximately nearly 20 kHz (20000 vibrations per second). The sounds over this frequency are named as ultrasound, ultrasonic. In ultrasonic cleaning processes, the frequency range between 20 kHz and 200 kHz is used. The usage area of the ultrasonic cleaning technology is substantially wide. Some of these can be machining, jewelry products, medical products, metal pieces coated with oil and dirt, and metal equipment, armature, reflector, various devices, apparatus, machine parts, etc.

Ultrasonic cleaning is the process of purification of the material, which exists in the tank, from the dirt thereof by means of application of high frequency sound waves into a tank which is full of liquid. By means of transducers placed under or to the side surfaces of the cleaning chamber, electrical energy is transformed into mechanical energy and is transmitted to the liquid provided in the tank. Energy provides the effect called “cavitation” and provides realization of cleaning. Cleaning is realized by means of this cavitation phenomenon. Cavitation is the name given to bubbles with micro-scale formed by liquid molecules which are input to the pressure-expansion cycle continuously. These bubbles collapse into themselves in case of expansion where the pressure is eliminated, and liquid moves at very high speed into the bubble. When this event takes place on the surface of the material put into the tank, very precise and dense cleaning is realized at micro-level. Foreign substances which exist on the material surface are removed from the surface by means of an effect which is similar to brushing or rubbing. The efficiency of cleaning is increased by adding various chemical substances into water depending on the characteristic of the material to be cleaned and the dirtiness degree. Various types of devices with various dimensions are produced for realizing this cleaning method which has pluralities of usage areas. The basic factors for preferring ultrasonic cleaning are as follows:

- Parts which have details like hole, recess, which are hard to access, and which are very difficult to be cleaned, can be cleaned in an efficient and rapid manner,

- Ultrasonic cleaning provides cleaning on the part with a degree of cleaning which cannot be reached by means of any other cleaning method,

- Sources like water, chemical substances and electricity are used economically,

- Cleaning is provided in very short durations and efficiency is increased.

However, some disadvantages occur in the ultrasonic cleaning devices used in the present art. Some of these disadvantages are as follows:

- The dirt, which is accumulated in the chamber after cleaning, cannot be separated from water, and depending on this, water becomes dirty in short time in repetitive washing processes,

- The chemicals, used together with water, become dirty and consumed in short time in repetitive washing.

- In case the resistances, used for heating water during washing, break down, the cleaning water is discharged and long time is consumed for elimination of the failure. After elimination of the failure, time is consumed for re-heating the renewed water and thermal loss occurs.

- In case the washed product falls to an undesired location in the chamber depending on user faults and movement of the water during washing, the fallen product cannot be taken from the bottom of the chamber and depending on this, the product is damaged. Energy and time losses occur during discharging the washing water in the chamber and re-filling the chamber with water in order for the product not to be damaged.

As a result, because of the abovementioned problems, an improvement is required in the related technical field.
