Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a separation device that has high separation efficiency. [Solution] A separation device (1) is provided with a shredding unit (30) (a first shredding unit), a separation unit (40) (a first separation unit), and a transport path (76) (a first airflow pipe). The shredding unit (30) shreds a paper diaper (an object to be processed) containing plastic (a first material) and a water-absorbent polymer (a second material) that is attached to the plastic. The paper diaper that has been shredded by the shredding unit (30) is accommodated in the separation unit (40) and the separation unit (40) separates the water-absorbent polymer that has passed through a hole (42a) from the paper diaper by rotating a drum (42). The transport path (76) uses wind pressure to transport the paper diaper that has been shredded by the shredding unit (30) toward the separation device (40). The transport path (76) comprises a part (76a) that extends in a first direction and a part (76b) that is connected to the part (76a) downstream from the part (76a) and that extends in a second direction that is approximately orthogonal to the first direction.
