The purpose of the present invention is to provide a separation membrane which has high water permeability and high selective removability of divalent/monovalent ions. A separation membrane according to the present invention comprises a supporting film and a separation function layer that is formed on the supporting film. The separation function layer contains a polymerized product of a polyfunctional amine and a polyfunctional acid halide. The polyfunctional amine is mainly composed of a polyfunctional aliphatic amine. The separation function layer has a hollow folded structure. The separation function layer has a specific surface area of from 1.1 to 10.0 (inclusive).
