Abstract:
Provided are a separation membrane unit and a desalination method using this unit which prevents contamination of the separation membrane unit, reduces maintenance time and labor, and achieves sufficient performance from the separation membrane. A plurality of separation membrane sub-units (11a-c) comprise: an untreated water line A (9a-c) including an untreated water supply valve W (10a-c); a water discharge line B (12a-c) including a discharged water valve X (13a-c); another untreated water line C (16a-c) including a first untreated water communication valve Y (17a-c); yet another untreated water line D (19a-c) including a second untreated water communication valve Z (20a-c); and a water transport line E (21a-c). Untreated water line A and water discharge line B communicate with each other, untreated water line C and untreated water line D communicate with each other, untreated water line A communicates with untreated water trunk pipe (7), water discharge line B communicates with a water discharge pipe (14), untreated water line C and untreated water line D communicate with a collecting pipe (18), and water transport line E communicates with a water transport pipe (22).
