Abstract:
The present invention provides a separation membrane which is suitable for separating water from a liquid mixture comprising an alcohol and water and which, even when used over a long period, can be inhibited from decreasing in separating performance. This separation membrane 10 includes a polyimide having structural unit X, which is represented by formula (1), and structural unit Y, which is represented by formula (2). A1 is a linking group containing no arylene group in the main chain and having a solubility parameter, as determined by the Fedors method, exceeding 5.0 (cal/cm3)1/2. A2 is a tetravalent organic group including an arylene group.
