Abstract:
The present invention relates to a separation method of a diol and dibutyl carbonate, which comprises: a first distillation step wherein a mixture (X) that contains (a) a diol having 6 or less carbon atoms, (b) dibutyl carbonate and (c) another component is distilled so as to obtain an azeotropic composition (Y) of the diol (a) and the dibutyl carbonate (b); and a separation step wherein the azeotropic composition (Y) obtained in the first distillation step is subjected to layer separation so as to obtain a mixture (A) that is mainly composed of the diol (a) and a mixture (B) that is mainly composed of the dibutyl carbonate (b).
