Abstract:

Provided are a separator and an electrochemical device comprising the same. The separator comprises: a separator base including a porous polymer substrate having a plurality of pores thereon and a porous coating layer formed on at least one surface of the porous polymer substrate and including a plurality of inorganic particles and a binder particles located on a part or all surface of each of the inorganic particles to interconnect and fix the inorganic particles; and an adhesive porous layer formed on at least one surface of the separator base and including an adhesive resin exhibiting adhesiveness when heated to a temperature lower than a melting point of the porous polymer substrate, wherein when a coating composition including the adhesive resin, a solvent, and a non-solvent is applied to at least one surface of the separator base and is dried, the adhesive porous layer is provided with a pore structure formed by phase separation according to an evaporating rate of the solvent and the non-solvent.
