Description:
SEPARATOR LID

Field of the Invention

This invention refers to a separator lid applied in household appliance, such as blenders or similar food processors, which is provided with functional portions, such as foam separator, whose purpose is to separate liquid from the foam generated by the processing of liquids or other foods, by the household appliance; ice separator, whose purpose is to separate the liquid from the ice that appears in the mixture processed by the household appliance; and liquids passage , whose purpose is to enable the free flow of the liquid processed by the household appliance, including eventual suspended solid particles. Background of the Invention

The current state of the art demonstrates a series of utensils applied to blenders and food processors with several features, among which are outlined the ice separation and food filtering, commonly used in the processing of fruit juices and vitamins. They are usually found arranged in an auxiliary jar, inside the main jar of such household appliances or as a simple lid supplied with tears to separate the solid particles from the processed food. The difficulty presented by the state of the art regards the fact that additional accessories are required to provide all separation function provided in the present invention, requiring subsequent stages to perform the desired separation after processing foods in the household appliance. The proposed invention combines in a single lid (1), with an innovative design, the function of separating ice and separating foam, reserving, without inconveniences, the possibility of free flow of the processed liquid, solving the problem of using several accessories alternately for obtaining the desired food, accomplishing this function in a single stage. State of Art Analyze Document MU 8700101-2 discloses an embodiment introduced in a household appliance accessory, such as for blenders, which comprises of a lid to be mounted inside the appliance jar, to restrict the useful height of the jar and allow its use to perform functions such as to chop food and other spices, grind grains, among other applications. The mentioned lid is attached to the inner side of the jar by the interference with the slots existing in the jar. Therefore, without mentioning the aspects of retaining foam and ice, the invention does not advances any feature of the invention in question. Document MU 8402730-4 describes a set formed by a cup jar, a knife support, a base of knifes, a seal, a filter, a cup jar lid and a filter Hd; inside the cup jar there is a tubular-shaped filter with a rectangular-sectioned surrounding ring. Such invention substantially differs from the proposed invention for not providing the bulkhead in the jar lid Patent PI9700247-0 refers to a screening of crushed foods made directly inside the blender Hd. The invention comprises a Hd with a front opening where the sieve is attached to, and it can have meshes with different sizes and the frontal lid with similar shape that should remain fitted on the sieve when the food is crushed and displaced to the right when it is required to sift it. This invention does not describe a foam separator, characteristic of the invention already mentioned herein; thus, substantially differs from its concepts.

Document MU7500879-3 describes a Hd with a strainer for the blender cup, which when crushing or mixing the food, uses on of the lid's tab in order to not spill food out of the cup. The other tab with a strainer is used after crushing and mixing the food to serve the liquid food, so that only the thinnest part passes. The abovementioned Hd is not supplied with a foam retainer, therefore does not advancing the invention characteristics. Patent US 2007165484 Al defines a geometry that provides a vertical movement to the material being processed inside the blender jar and, in an alternative or combined manner, improves the horizontal movement of the mixed material. The jar includes a hole in the wall that leads to a nozzle distributor. The hole is positioned, at least partially, on the vertical edge of the side wall of the jar. Such invention substantially differs from the characteristics of the proposed invention for not providing the same separation features. Description of Figures Figure 1 represents, in scheme, a perspective view of the separator lid (1) in the usage position in the jar (2) of a blender, outlining the detail of the separator of foam (1), the separator of ice (2) and the passage for liquids

(3).

Figure 2 points out a perspective view of the separator lid (1), where different parts of the device are observed: the region of the separator of foam (3), the region of the separation of ice (4) and the region of the passage of liquids (4).

Detailed Description of the Invention

This invention describes a lid (1) applied to household appliances, such as blenders or similar food processors, in a shape compatible with the straight section of the jar (2) of the blender, so as to fit around the perimeter of such jar (2), sealing the passage of the content.

Thus, in a preferential embodiment, the separator lid (1) would have a shape substantially triangular in order to be fitted to a jar (2) of a blender whose straight section is essentially triangular.

In order to accomplish the functionalities provided for the present invention, the lid (1) is supplied with at least three different functional portions, combined in a single accessory, each designed for a specific purpose. The first portion is designed to enable the separation of the processed liquid from the foam resulting from the processing, constituting a "foam separator" region (3), comprise by a bulkhead essentially vertical in relation to the plan of the lid (1), being extended to the inner part of the jar (2), creating a space between the border of the lid (1) and the wall of the jar

(2).

The second portion is designed to enable the separation of the processed liquid from the ice contained therein, constituting a "ice separator" region (4), comprised by slots in the plan of the lid (1), being extended from the border to the center of the lid (1), forming spaced spans in the said ice separator region (4) of the lid (1).

The third portion is designed to enable the free passage of the processed liquid, including eventual suspended solid particles, such as fruit pieces or ice, constituting a "liquid passage" region (5), comprised by an opening between the border of the lid ( 1 ) and the wall of the j ar (2) .

This invention is not limited to the representations mentioned or illustrated herein, and it has to be comprehended in its wide scope. Many changes and other representations of the invention will come in mind of those skilled in the technique to which this invention belongs, having the learning benefit presented in previous descriptions and attached drawings. Further, it is to be understood that the invention is not limited to the disclosed specific shape and that changes and other shapes are understood as enclosed within the scope of the attached claims. Although specific terms are nominated herein, they are only used in a generic and descriptive form and not for a limiting purpose.
