Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a separator that is provided with a resin layer and a ceramic layer provided to at least one surface of the resin layer, the method comprising a step for cutting the separator into a prescribed size, wherein the step for cutting the separator into a prescribed size includes: a step for removing at least a portion of the ceramic layer at a site where the separator is to be cut; and a step for cutting the separator along the site where at least a portion of the ceramic layer has been removed. The separator according to the present invention is provided with a resin layer and a ceramic layer provided to at least one surface of the resin layer, wherein when the thickness of the ceramic layer at the central part A in a planar direction of the separator is defined as D1 [μm] and the thickness of the ceramic layer at a position separated, by 1 μm, toward the central part A from the central part B of one edge of the separator is defined as D2 [μm], D2/D1 is not greater than 0.50 on at least one edge of the separator.
