Abstract:
A separator for nonaqueous secondary batteries, which is provided with: a porous base that contains a thermoplastic resin; and a porous layer that is provided on one surface or both surfaces of the porous base and contains a polyvinylidene fluoride resin. The porous layer has a structure wherein a plurality of cells, each of which opened in the direction perpendicular to the surface of the porous layer, are aligned adjacent to each other in the plane direction of the porous layer, and has a contact angle with water of from 115° to 140°.
