Abstract:
When serial communication between a controller (10) having a serial communication function and one or more devices (20) having a serial communication function is performed in accordance with a communication format, the controller assigns a code in the communication format with information indicating whether there is a single device or whether there are a plurality of devices. When there is a single device, the controller indicates via the information that there is a single device, and performs serial communication with the single device. When there are a plurality of devices, the controller indicates via the information that there are a plurality of devices and serial communication is performed with the single device. When there are a plurality of devices, the controller indicates that there are a plurality of devices via the information, the controller including in the communication format a device ID for identifying the device, and performing serial communication with the device specified by the device ID.
