Abstract:
An electrode comprising an electroactive material and a binder dispersed in the electroactive material, wherein the binder comprises hydrolysed sericin, is provided. In particular embodiments, said electroactive material may be a high voltage cathode material comprising a spinel oxide. In various embodiments, the spinel oxide may comprise LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 (LNMO). A method for producing the electrode is also provided.
