Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a series antenna switching system and an RF-tag reading system for shelves, which make it possible to readily read RF tags of a large number of items displayed in shelves, irrespective of the orientations or directions of the items. [Solution] A series antenna switching system 100 for shelves includes: antennas 501, ..., 50n disposed at individual shelves 901, ..., 90n; antenna switches 221, ..., 22n disposed at the individual shelves 901, ..., 90n; an antenna switching controller 210 that controls the antenna switches 221, ..., 22n; a reader 200 that reads signals from the antennas 501, ..., 50n; and a high-frequency cable 300 that connects the reader 200 in series with the antennas 501, ..., 50n. The reader 200 reads RF tags attached to articles disposed at the individual shelves 901, ..., 90n via the antennas 501, ..., 50n.
