Abstract:
[Problem] To make it possible to address the split-brain problem and service stop failure for a cloud-based highly available cluster system. [Solution] An operating virtual server (server 310) notifies a coordinating device 100 upon detecting the stopping of a heartbeat from a standby virtual server (server 320). Further, the operating virtual server reports to the coordinating device whether a service is running or not running. If the coordinating device receives heartbeat stopping and service running notifications, the coordinating device instructs the standby virtual server to carry out a system restart. Upon receiving the system restart instruction, the standby virtual server restarts the service, restarts the operating system, or restarts the operating system if the restarting of the service failed.
