Abstract:
Disclosed by the embodiments of the present invention are a session processing method and related device. The method comprises: a second access and mobility management function (AMF) network element learns from a first session management function (SMF) network element that a first AMF network element which serves a terminal is not available; a second AMF network element obtains the context of the terminal from a database, the context of the terminal comprising the identifier of the first SMF network element and the identifier of a second SMF network element; the second AMF network element pages the terminal and sends the identifier of the second AMF network element and a paging status indication to the database so as to update the context of the terminal; and the second AMF network element receives a service request message from the terminal, the service request message being used to establish a user plane resource for the session of the terminal. If multiple sessions associated with multiple SMFs are present in the terminal, it may be guaranteed that the terminal will be served last by the second AMF network element that triggers paging, thereby avoiding process conflicts caused by multiple AMF network elements serving one terminal.
