Abstract:
[PROBLEMS] To remarkably improve production efficiency by minimizing the possibility of the breakage of a sewing needle to eliminate time-consuming broken needle collecting operation. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A sewing needle mounting structure, comprising a needle stopper (6) having a mounting hole (8) allowing a sewing needle (3) to be inserted therein from the underside and a needle locking mechanism (B) fixedly locking the sewing needle (3) inserted into the mounting hole (8). The needle locking mechanism (B) further comprises a spring (12) installed in the needle stopper (6) and a contact member (10) energized and brought into contact with the sewing needle (3) from the side by the elastic force of the spring (12). The contact member (10) is so formed that, when an upward force of a specified value or higher acts on the sewing needle (3), the fixedly locked state of the sewing needle which elastically energizes the sewing needle (3) is released, and the mounting hole (8) is upwardly extended longer than a length required for inserting the sewing needle (3) into a regular mounting position.
