Abstract:
This shaft member (30) is made of steel and provided with an outer peripheral surface (30a) to be brought into contact with a rolling body (32). A region of the shaft member located at a first distance (L1) or less from the outer peripheral surface in a radial direction has a hardness of 653 Hv or greater. A region of the shaft member located at a second distance (L2) or more in the radial direction has a residual austenite amount of 7% by volume or less. The first distance is greater than a radial distance from the outer peripheral surface to a position (P) where the maximum shearing stress reaches 650 MPa when the rolling body and the outer peripheral surface are in contact with each other. The second distance is 1.5 times or less of the radial distance from the outer peripheral surface to the position where the maximum shearing stress reaches 650 MPa when the rolling body and the outer peripheral surface are in contact with each other.
