The present invention more reliably prevents or inhibits breakage of a shaft-support component when a load exceeding a prescribed level is exerted on a rotary body. This shaft-support structure for a rotary body is provided with an inner bearing part (22) provided to a base panel (20); and an inner spindle (45) that is provided to a cup holder (40L) so as to be rotatably supported by the inner bearing part (22). The inner bearing part (22) has slits (24s, 26s) provided apart from the base panel (20). A center cover (80) is provided at a position that faces the slits. The cup holder (40L) is configured to move in a direction that causes the inner spindle (45) to come off the inner bearing part (22) by way of the slits (24s, 26s) when a load exceeding a prescribed level is exerted in a direction away from the base panel (20), and at the same time, the inner spindle (45) presses the center cover (80) from inside and causes the center cover (80) to move in a direction of separating from the inner bearing part (22), thereby making the inner spindle (45) come off the inner bearing part (22).
