Abstract:
Provided is shape measuring method for measuring the shape of a coil spring, said method comprising: an arrangement step in which both ends of a coil spring are positioned on a preset axis of rotation and the coil spring is arranged so as to be able to rotate around the axis of rotation; and a measuring step in which the surface shape of the arranged coil spring is measured by a non-contact displacement gauge. The measuring step is characterized in that when at least part of the surface shape of the coil spring wire is measured, the surface shape is measured by projecting light from a plurality of different directions on the same area being measured. Thus, even if the cross-section shape of the coil spring wire is not round, the shape of the coil spring can be measured precisely.
