Abstract:
A shape memory alloy actuator is configured so as to include: a shape memory alloy wire (11) inserted through the inside of a tube member (12); a movement body (14) which is moved in the direction in which the length of the shape memory alloy wire (11) changes, the movement of the movement body (14) being performed by the extension and contraction of the shape memory alloy wire (11); and an elastic member (15) which applies an external force to the movement body (14) in the direction in which the shape memory alloy wire (11) extends. The shape memory alloy actuator is also provided with a magnetic sensor configured so as to include: a magnetism section (19) which is moved as the movement body (14) moves; an excitation coil (17) which is provided so as to correspond to the magnetism section (19) and which magnetizes the magnetism section (19); and a detection coil (18) which outputs a voltage corresponding to the position thereof relative to the magnetism section.
