Abstract:
A lower arm (7) which is a shaped pipe body has sufficient rigidity because the lower arm (7) comprises an outer layer (71) and an inner layer (72) which are formed in a circular tube shape using CFRP. Also, the lower arm (7) has improved vibration damping characteristics because the lower arm (7) comprises a vibration damping layer (73) disposed between the outer layer (71) and the inner layer (72). As a result, a robot arm (3) using the lower arm (7) has sufficient rigidity and improved vibration damping characteristics. Also, in the lower arm (7), a male screw thread (74a) is provided to one end section of the lower arm (7), the one end section including one end (71a) of the outer layer (71). This means that, when joining the lower arm (7) and a connection member (9), the lower arm (7) and the connection member (9) can be joined by the engagement between the male screw thread (74a) and a female screw thread (9a) in addition to the adhesion by an adhesive agent. As a result, the lower arm (7) can be joined to the connection member (9) with increased strength.
