Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a refractory which is excellent in terms of corrosion resistance and profitability. [Solution] A shaped refractory obtained from a fired refractory and an oxide powder, characterized in that in the central part located at least 5 mm inward in the normal-line direction from the surface of the shaped refractory, the shaped refractory gives a pore volume/pore diameter distribution curve which has a maximum peak at a pore diameter of 10 µm or larger and which has a pore-volume peak also in the pore diameter range of 0.05-1.0 µm because agglomerates of the oxide powder have been formed in pores of the fired refractory.
