Abstract:
A method for manufacturing sheet glass, comprising forming, on the periphery of an edge part (Ga) of a rectangular sheet glass (G), a scribe (S) parallel to the edge part (Ga) on one surface of the sheet glass (G), and breaking the sheet glass (G) using the scribe (S) as a boundary, wherein the scribe (S) is formed excluding both end parts in the direction along the edge part (Ga), and, at a corner part (Gb) of the sheet glass (G), breaking is performed so that maximum stress occurs further toward the inside relative to an imaginary extension line continuing from the scribe (S).
