Abstract:
A cutter for performing this cutting method is provided with: a longitudinally cutting device (12) which cuts a web (W), used as a sheet material, in the longitudinal direction of the web (W) to form a group (G) of strips; a laterally cutting device (26) which has a stationary edge (28) and a rotary cutter (30) and which forms the individual strips of the strip group (G) into rectangular pieces; and a flat air nozzle (56) which generates an air curtain (AC) for pressing the strip group (G) against the stationary edge (28).
