Abstract:

[Problem] To provide: a sheet material which has a simple configuration and is capable of preventing the formation of a resin ball within an outer case; a secondary battery which has an outer case that is not susceptible to decrease in the mechanical strength; and a method for producing this secondary battery. [Solution] A sheet material 80 is used for the purpose of producing an outer case 8 in which an electrode laminate 10 is sealed, said electrode laminate 10 comprising a positive electrode, a negative electrode and a separator. This sheet material 80 is configured from a resin material, and has a first portion 821 which is fusion bonded when the outer case 8 is produced, and a second portion 822 which is positioned inside the first portion 821 when the sheet material 80 is viewed in plan and prevents the resin material, which has been molten during the production of the outer case 8, from flowing into the outer case 8.
