Abstract:
The handling of cell cultures for clinical application requires the introduction of large-scale equipment that provides a space that can be kept exceedingly clean and therefore requires a large investment in equipment. The introduction of such equipment and the handling of cell cultures for transplantation is therefore restricted to a limited number of highly specialized facilities. The inventors of the present invention address the problem of providing a device that makes it possible to conveniently prepare sheet-shaped cell cultures without the need for large-scale equipment. By using a mixing bag that is for mixing fluids and is in fluid communication with bags and/or a filter, the present invention makes it possible to aseptically prepare sheet-shaped cell cultures while reducing the risk of contamination.
