Abstract:
An objective of the present invention is to provide a shelf such that necessary illumination can be carried out without restricting the usable space in the shelf in any way and such that the shelf is aesthetically appealing. This shelf comprises: a plurality of support columns; shelving boards which are detachably attached between mutually adjacent support columns; illumination devices which are embedded in all of the shelving boards or a portion of the shelving boards; sockets which are attached to the shelving boards wherein the illumination devices are embedded; support column-side power source supply cables which are embedded in the support columns; and shelving board-side power source supply cables which are embedded in the shelving boards wherein the illumination devices are embedded and which connect the illumination devices to the sockets. The configuration is such that by the shelving boards being attached between the support columns, the sockets are connected with the support column-side power source supply cables, and the illumination devices are switched on.
