Abstract:
This shell-type roller bearing comprises a shell outer ring which includes a cylindrical section (12) and a flange section (13) extending from one axial end toward the inner diameter side of the cylindrical section, and is composed of an austenitic stainless steel material. One axial end portion of the inner diametric surface (16) of the cylindrical section (12) is an inclined surface (16b), the inner diameter of the inclined surface (16b) is greater than the inner diameter of an axial center region of the inner diametric surface (16), and the hardness of the flange section (13) is within the range of 300-450 HV.
