Abstract:
Provided is a shift control device for an automatic transmission equipped with a shift-by-wire mechanism, with which it is possible to prevent a vehicle from moving unintentionally when the engine is unable to output driving force. When the engine (70) is stopped and the gradient of the road surface is equal to or greater than a prescribed threshold value (for example, 30°) when the shift range of an automatic transmission (10) is in the P range and selection information for selecting a shift range other than the P range is output by a selection position determination unit (30), a shift-by-wire control unit (SBW-CU) (40), which forms this shift control device (1), maintains the P range without switching the shift range of the automatic transmission (10). When the engine (70) is not stopped or when the gradient of the road surface is less than the prescribed threshold value, the shift range of the automatic transmission (10) is selected on the basis of the selection information.
