Abstract:
A shift device is provided with: a knob (14) that is rotated in order to select a shift range of a vehicle transmission; a lock member (96) that restricts the rotation of the knob; a cam member (95) that displaces the lock member between a restricted position and a non-restricted position; a drive source (91) for rotating the cam member; and a control unit (103) for controlling the drive source. The drive source includes a first gear (92) that transmits a drive force of the drive source to the cam member. The cam member includes a second gear (93) that engages with the first gear to receive the drive force of the drive source. The control unit is configured so as to: set a voltage applied to the drive source to the lowest voltage during the maximum time it takes from after the first gear starts to rotate until a first setting time, which is a transmission start time in which the first gear and the second gear engage and the transmission of the drive force is started; gradually increase the voltage applied to the drive source from the lowest voltage during a period from the first set time to a pre-set second setting time; gradually decrease the voltage applied to the drive source during a period from the third setting time to a fourth setting time; and set the voltage applied to the drive source to a constant value during a period from the fourth setting time to a stopping time at which the lock member is stopped. The third setting time is set after the second setting time, and the fourth setting time is set to before a prescribed time from the stopping time.
