Abstract:
Provided is a shift device configured so that when a lever is turned in an automatic path, a link is turned integrally with the lever, and as a result thereof the rotary position of the link is detected, and the shift position of the lever is thus detected. Moreover, when the lever is turned in a manual path, the rotary position of the lever is detected, and the shift position of the lever is thus detected. When the lever is turned in the manual path, the rotary position of the link is maintained at a position corresponding to the "D" position in the automatic path. Consequently, in a state in which detection of the "D" position of the lever is being maintained, the shift position of the lever in the manual path can be detected.
