Abstract:
Provided are: a shift drum drive unit configured so that a crankcase can be reduced in size to increase the degree of freedom of the arrangement of parts and so that the influence of the vibration of the crankcase can be reduced; and a saddled vehicle provided with the shift drum drive unit. A shift drum drive unit (230) is provided with: a rotation drive body (231) and a power transmitting mechanism (232), which are rotatably provided within a unit case (234) integrally mounted to a crankcase (111); and a shift actuator (233) provided outside the unit case (234). The rotation drive body (231) is provided with: a shaft fitting sleeve (231a) into which a shift shaft (255) for rotationally driving a shift drum (224) is fitted; and an indirect output gear (231b) which is a fan-shaped gear, the indirect output gear (231b) protruding partially from the outer surface of the shaft fitting sleeve (231a). The power transmitting mechanism (232) comprises a gear for transmitting the rotational drive force of the shift actuator (233) to the indirect output gear (231b).
