Abstract:
A control device (1) calculates the angle difference between a ship's (10) course and target direction and on the basis of this calculated angle difference, calculates a target load to be applied to the rudder (4) and while measuring the load applied to the rudder, (4) controls a ship-steering system (6) to steer the rudder (4) such that the measured load applied to the rudder (4) reaches the calculated target load.
