Abstract:
Provided is a shipboard diesel engine comprising: a diesel engine body (12); a fuel supply system (36) that supplies only low-sulfur distillate to the diesel engine body (12) as fuel; and a supercharger (31) which includes a turbine (33) that is driven by exhaust gas from the diesel engine body (12) and thereby recovers heat, and a compressor (32) that supplies air, serving as a combustion gas, to the diesel engine body (12) by rotating coaxially with the turbine (33).
