Abstract:
A shock absorber in which an inner pipe (12) is placed in an outer pipe (11) having
a tapered section (111). In the shock absorber, a hole is formed in a sidewall of
the inner pipe (12), a movable body (14) is placed in the hole, and a support body
(13) is placed in the inner pipe (12). When the shock absorber absorbs shock, an
inner opening of a movable-body hole (121) in the inner pipe (12) is closed by that
portion of the support body (13) which excludes a movable-body receiving section
(131). Also, the movable body (14) is placed inside the movable-body hole (121)
such that the movable body (14) can be in contact with the tapered section (111).
When the inner pipe (12) is received in the outer tube, the movable body (14) is
received in the movable-body receiving section (131).
