Abstract:
A shock absorber is provided with a metal cylindrical outer tube (1), a rod (2) that is inserted in the outer tube (1) so as to be movable in the axial direction, a bump cushion (3) that is attached to the outer periphery of the rod (2) protruding from the outer tube (1), a synthetic-resin bump stopper (4) that is cap-shaped and fitted to one of the axial ends of the outer tube and against which the bump cushion (3) abuts at the time of maximum compression, and a sacrificial corrosion portion (5) that is disposed between the outer tube (1) and the bump stopper (4) and is in contact with a metal surface of the outer tube (1). The sacrificial corrosion portion (5) comprises a metal having a higher ionization tendency than that of the outer tube (1), thereby preventing corrosion of materials.
