A shock absorber (100) is provided with an outer tube (1) having a piston rod (2) extending from one end and a convex part (1b) formed in the outer periphery, a spring seat (3) press-fitted over the convex part (1b), and a bracket (4) for holding one end of a dust boot (5) for protecting the piston rod (2), the bracket (4) being secured to the spring seat (3).
