Abstract:
Provide is a shock absorber with which dimensional quality can be improved and the sealing performance of a seal ring can be assured. This shock absorber (10) is provided with a cylinder (11), an outer tube (15), an intermediate tube (14), a discharge passage (18) divided between the intermediate tube (14) and the cylinder (11), and a reservoir (19) divided between the intermediate tube (14) and the outer tube (15). The intermediate tube (14) has, on the inner circumferential surface thereof, a groove (31) which has a concave cross-section that can accommodate a sealing ring (32) for blocking the discharge passage (18). When θ1 is the angle formed between the side surface, which is located on the axial end side of the intermediate tube (14) among both side surfaces of the groove (31) in the intermediate tube (14), and the surface (PL1, PL2) which is orthogonal to the axial direction of the intermediate tube (14), and θ2 is the angle formed between the side surface located on the axial center side of the intermediate tube (14) and the surface (PL1, PL2), the relationship θ1 <θ2 is satisfied.
