Abstract:
For example, in the case of a speed reduction gear train for a disk grinder, there was a problem with a shock absorbing mechanism for absorbing gear engagement shocks generated by starting or stopping of an electric motor, this problem being that assembly properties and durability were impaired because a small elastic part was interposed between a driven gear and a driven shaft in such a way as to provide a shock absorbing action in a rotational direction. In this regard, disclosed is a shock absorbing mechanism such that assembly properties and durability are improved. The shock absorbing mechanism is configured in such a way that by means of relative rotation between the driven gear (12) and the driven shaft (13), this relative rotation being caused by rotational power during engagement, steel balls (21 - 21) are made to undergo displacement in a diameter expansion direction, and that thereby an axial displacement member (22) is made to undergo axial displacement in resistance against an axial elastic member (23).
