Abstract:
Provided is a shock-absorbing member that is for a vehicle, is provided with columnar wooden members (21, 121, 161) and metal frame bodies (31, 131, 171) that encircle the sides of the wooden members, and incurs shocks during collisions as a compressive load in the axial direction. The frame bodies are provided with a bumpy shape (33, 35, 141r-144r, 181r-184r) at the outer surface or the inner surface, and so deform in a manner so as to expand outward when incurring a compressive load in the axial direction.
