Abstract:
A shoe comprises a sole for absorbing an impact at landing, an upper member for wrapping an instep, and a shoelace means for fitting the upper member to the instep. The upper member comprises a main section (2M) for covering the inner side surface, the outer side surface, the toe, the instep, and the rear surface of a foot, side edge sections having first eyelets, a first side panel (51) for covering the inner side surface of the foot, and a second side panel (52) for covering the outer side surface of the foot. Each side panel comprises an upper end section (53) attached to the front end of the side panel and having a second eyelet which allows the shoelace means to pass therethrough and is engaged with the shoelace, a lower end section (54) joined to the main section and/or the sole, and an intermediate section (55) disposed between the front end section and the lower end section and allowing the front end section to move in the front-rear direction of the foot relative to the lower end section. At least either of the side panels stretches so that the length from the front end section to the lower end section increases.
