Title:
SHOES FOR HALLUX VALGUS
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2016/050252
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The invention comprises appealing shoes that accepts style changes by change of fashion with an esthetic look that functions to protect against hallux valgus deformity. The shoes is tight at metatarsals and allows comfortable room for toes. The medial side of shoes is a straight line running from heel to hallux, given that when shoes is approximated the medial sides co-apt completely. The invented shoes accept any shoes heal height. The invention prevents development of hallux valgus and prevents further calcification and bunion formation, and controls pains resulting from hallux valgus deformity with a fashionable look.

Description:
Shoes for Hallux Valgus

Technical Field:

Shoes Industry

Background Art:

All shoes allow broadening in metatarsal area and tightening at phalanges that result in lateral in-drawing of end of phalanx of big toe and medial in drawing of other toes. During barefooted walking the body weight is distributed to both metatarsals and phalanges, with fanning of toes. Figure (1) shows the sole of shoes with widening of metatarsal area and tightening of room for phalanges.

Disclosure Of The Invention:

Rational:

All shoes allow widening of metatarsal area with throttling of room for phalanges. Contemporary shoes do not allow room for phalanges to carry distributed body weight during walking, and allows room for meta-tarsal area to widen, thus metatarsal area takes over the function of carrying of body weight by phalanges and fans during walking. Contemporary shoes allow relaxation of metatarsal ligaments, bunion formation, calcification at base of big toe, deformation of foot, foot pains. This deformation becomes permanent by time and is named hallux valgus, thus entire body weight rests on the bunion during walking with further metatarsal widening and bunion causes friction with shoes causing further callosities. Birkenstock sandals and shoes allows widening at phalanges (toe area) which allow proper weight distribution, but allows widening of metatarsal area. Figure (2) demonstrates sole of a normal foot, where a straight line can be drawn between big toe and foot heel that passes by base of first toe. Figure (3) shows the deformation of foot in the shoes demonstrated in figure (1). Figure (4) demonstrates the consequences of wearing contemporary shoes that are tight at phalanges and wide at metatarsals; namely hallux vulgus, bunion formation and calcification. [1,2]

Detailed Description:

The invention describes shoes that are tight at metatarsal area, with a medial straight side allowing a straight line to be drawn passing from heel to tip of big toe passing by medial outermost point of base of first toe. The shoes allow heels in different heights. The shoes allow placement of spacer cushion in between big toe and other toes to retain big toe in place while weight bearing. The relative tightness at metatarsal area does not allow widening or metatarsal ligament relaxation, as demonstrated by figure 5. Figure (5) shows the sole of the invention. It also demonstrates possible placement of spacer cushions between big toe and other toes to retain big toe in place while weight bearing.

Novelty:

The invention embodies shoes that protects against widening of metatarsals, and protects against further metatarsal ligaments relaxation. Shoes allow various heights at metatarsal area to accommodate different sizes of feet. Shoes allow any heal height and maintains medial straight line passing by heel to tip of big toe crossing by medial outermost point of base of first toe. The invention embodies shoes that protects against bunion formation, and it allows toes to fan and share with metatarsals in carrying body weight.

The invention embodies shoes that allows placement of cushion in between big toe and other toes to retain big toe in place while weight bearing, the invented shoes allows placement of spacer cushion in between big toe and other toes to retain space between big toe and other toes. The invention embodies shoes or sandals. The shoes can be fashionable or sports shoes for any type of sports, or boots or any type of shoes.
