Abstract:
Provided is a short arc high-pressure discharge lamp in which stability of the shape, vaporization resistance, and workability of the anode have been improved.
The short arc high-pressure discharge lamp is provided with a discharge vessel (2), an anode (4) formed from a tungsten-based material that includes potassium, and a cathode (3), with the anode (4) including a functional surface region (4a) in which interaction between the anode (4) and an arc occurs and a bulk region (4b) adjacent to the functional surface region (4a). The short arc high-pressure discharge lamp is characterized by the presence of a rapid change in the crystal grain size of the tungsten-based material of the anode (4) between the functional surface region (4a) and the bulk region (4b) in a direction parallel to a vertical axis (Z) of the anode (4).
