Abstract:
A shovel according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a lower traveling body; an upper turning body turnably mounted on the lower traveling body; a hydraulic pump mounted on the upper turning body; a hydraulic actuator driven by hydraulic oil discharged by the hydraulic pump; a bleed valve that controls the flow rate of the hydraulic oil discharged by the hydraulic pump and flowing to a hydraulic oil tank without passing through the hydraulic actuator; and a control device that controls the opening area of the bleed valve in accordance with the operation state of the hydraulic actuator. The control device decreases the opening area of the bleed valve in a case where the hydraulic actuator is in single-acting operation.
