Abstract:
Provided is a shredder (A) comprising a single housing (1)
which houses a shredder blade casing (2) for holding a shredding mechanism (4) having a shredder blade (41) for shredding a paper or like sheet; and a waste receiver (3) for receiving the waste shredded in the shredder blade casing (2) and for shielding the shredder blade (41) from the outside during time of the operation as well as during time of non-operation of the shredder blade (41). The housing (1) comprises a space-volume changing mechanism (X) for changing the volume of the space for receiving the shredded waste in the housing (1) (i.e., changing the receiving space (S)) to be smaller in the non-operating state (P) than in the operating state (Q).
