Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a side airbag device that can quickly and appropriately restrain a vehicle occupant in the initial stage of airbag deployment, and a vehicle seat comprising said side airbag device. [Solution] The side airbag device is disposed inside a side support part of a seat, and comprises an airbag that restrains a vehicle occupant by expandably deploying during a vehicle collision, and an inflator that supplies expanding gas to the airbag. The airbag is folded up and accommodated in the side support part in a state of extending so that the vertical direction of the airbag is a longitudinal direction. The lower part of the accommodated airbag is configured so as to be folded multiple times in the longitudinal direction to form a lower compressed part.
