Abstract:
Provided is a side airbag in which a side panel is set to thereby allow the bag thickness to be increased without a greater increase in size than necessary, and in which a tether and a side panel can be sewn together by flat sewing. In the side airbag (10), a side panel (28) formed in strip shape is sewn to the peripheral edge part of a pair of main panels (24, 26) disposed facing each other to thereby form an airbag body (32). The tether (30) provided inside the airbag body (32) is folded so that the two sides in the lengthwise direction are in a line in the facing direction of the pair of main panels (24, 26). One of the long-side edge parts (30A) is sewn to the pair of main panels (24, 26) and to the front surface part (28C) of the side surface panel (28). The two sides in the lengthwise direction of the other long-side edge part (30B) are made to overlap each other and are sewn together.
